Through its projects, the Domowina strengthens the Sorbian language, culture and identity. From educational and cultural initiatives to international events, it creates momentum for exchange, participation and the visibility of the Sorbian people in Europe.

EUROPEADA

EUROPEADA is the European Football Championship of the autochthonous national minorities of Europe. With the SERBSKE MUSTWO, the Sorbs are represented both athletically and culturally, sending a strong message for diversity, fair play and solidarity. The tournament brings together people and cultures – far beyond football.

International Folklore Festival ŁUŽICA – ŁUŽYCA – LAUSITZ

The International Folklore Festival takes place every two years in Budyšin | Bautzen, Hochoza | Drachhausen and Chrósćicy | Crostwitz. As a CIOFF® festival, it brings together dance, music and folklore groups from Łužyca | Łužica and from around the world. It stands for lived diversity, cultural exchange and Sorbian hospitality – a festival that connects tradition and modernity.

Sotra.App

With SOTRA.APP, the WITAJ Language Centre has developed the first Sorbian-German translation application. The tool facilitates learning, understanding and using the Sorbian language – digitally, suitable for everyday use and continuously being further developed. It contributes to keeping the Sorbian language visible and vibrant in the digital sphere.

Heritage of Lusatia

The project UNESCO 5 – Heritage of Lusatia connects the UNESCO sites of the region with the intangible cultural heritage of the Sorbs. It strengthens awareness of the language, history and natural environment of Lusatia and highlights how closely Sorbian culture and landscape are intertwined. In this way, the diversity of the region is presented as a shared European heritage.
