Spěchowanski kruh za serbsku ludowu kulturu | Society for Promoting the Sorbian National Culture

The Society for Promoting the Sorbian National Culture was founded on 28 March 1991 and emerged from the House of Sorbian Folk Culture. It is committed to the active preservation and careful further development of Sorbian traditions. Whether intricately decorated Easter eggs, traditional costume embroidery, ceramics, woodwork or painting, the association showcases and brings to life the rich craft heritage of the Sorbs through workshops and exhibitions.

Through creative projects under professional guidance, the Society supports folk artists in Upper and Lower Lusatia and contributes to carrying traditional forms of Sorbian cultural expression into the present day. Annual highlights of its work include the competition for the most beautiful Sorbian Easter egg for adults as well as for children and young people, and the Sorbian Easter Egg Market.

Since 2001, the Society has been a member of Domowina.
