Domowina – Regional Association ‘Handrij Zejler’

The Domowina Regional Association Wojerecy | Hoyerswerda currently comprises five Domowina local groups, 13 heritage, traditional costume, dance and cultural associations, as well as choirs that are active throughout the region. The association's area covers the former district of Wojerecy | Hoyerswerda.

The associations organise their own events, with a focus on Sorbian culture. These include book readings, lectures, concerts, heritage days and theatre performances.

Most of the events are organised at the Domowina House in Wojerecy | Hoyerswerda. They are open not only to members of the regional association, but also to all interested guests.

The umbrella organisation Domowina – Zwjazk Łužiskich Serbow | Bund Lausitzer Sorben provides financial support for the work of the local groups, associations and local history museums. Upon application, they receive a lump sum grant that enables them to carry out projects and events locally.
