Domowina Prize

With the Domowina Prize, the Domowina – Federation of Lusatian Sorbs honours outstanding voluntary commitment to the Sorbian language and culture.

This year, we would once again like to honour individuals who are particularly committed, on a voluntary basis, to preserving our Sorbian language and promoting Sorbian culture.

Until 30 June 2026, you may submit nominations to the awards committee for the Domowina Prize, the Domowina Young Talent Award and the Domowina Badge of Honour at the following address:

Domowina – Zwězk Łužyskich Serbow | Zwjazk Łužiskich Serbow | Federation of Lusatian Sorbs
Póstowe naměsto | Postplatz 2
02625 Budyšin | Bautzen

You may also send your nomination by email to sekretariat@domowina.de. Please use the designated form for this purpose. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

The awards ceremony will take place on 9 October 2026 in Budyšin | Bautzen.

Each year, the Domowina honours individuals who dedicate their heart, time and conviction to the Sorbian people. Their commitment keeps language, culture and communal life vibrant – in schools and associations, on stages, in the media and in everyday interaction.

Three distinctions are awarded: the “Myto Domowiny” (Domowina Prize) for special services to the Sorbian people, the “Myto za dorost” (Domowina Young Talent Prize) in recognition of committed young people, and the Badge of Honour of the Domowina for outstanding voluntary service.

Through these awards, the Domowina makes a visible statement of recognition and gratitude – for all those who help ensure that the Sorbian language and culture remain a natural and integral part of our society in the future.
