Main Assembly

The Main Assembly is the highest body of the Domowina. Every two years, delegates decide on guidelines and priorities.

The Main Assembly of Domowina is the organisation’s highest decision-making body and meets every two years. It is convened by the Federal Executive Board at least three months in advance, with the agenda included. Delegates – consisting of members of the Federal Executive Board and representatives of the member federations – receive their written invitations no later than three weeks before the meeting.

At the mid-point of each election period, the Main Assembly reviews the past two years and adopts the working guidelines for the following two. This includes approving the Federal Executive Board’s activity report, the financial report, and the reports of the Audit Commission and the Mediation Commission. Other responsibilities of this “mid-term meeting” are the discussion of current strategic issues, as well as the adoption of Rules of Procedure, such as the Election Rules, the Statute for the Conferral of Honorary Membership, the Membership Fee Statute, and Domowina’s Programme.

Every four years, the Main Assembly also functions as the Electoral Assembly. In addition to the tasks outlined above, it discharges the outgoing Federal Executive Board, elects the Chair and Deputy Chairs (ensuring representation from both Lower and Upper Lusatia), and elects further members of the Federal Executive Board, the Audit Commission, and the Mediation Commission.
