Domowina is a multifaceted organisation. As the umbrella body of the Sorbs, it unites a wide variety of member associations from different fields. These associations form the backbone of the Sorbian people and work locally to strengthen Sorbian identity.

Domowina brings together around 7,600 committed members, organised in five regional federations, numerous local groups and thirteen supra-regional specialist member associations. This structure ensures a strong presence of the Sorbian people across Lusatia and supports a wide range of activities. Our members are at the heart of our work – they contribute their passion and expertise to the many and diverse Sorbian initiatives.

A central forum for exchange and democratic decision-making is the Main Assembly, held every two years. Every four years, its delegates elect the Federal Executive Board of Domowina, which determines the organisation’s activities during its term of office. The day-to-day work is coordinated by the Main Office of Domowina, which plays a key role in putting our objectives into practice.

Our Main Office is run by dedicated staff. The Regional Offices in Chóśebuz | Cottbus, Chrósćicy | Crostwitz, Slepo | Schleife, Wojerecy | Hoyerswerda and Budyšin | Bautzen make a particularly important contribution. In their regions, they are trusted contacts for all matters of Sorbian public life. Their expertise and support are of immense value to our members and to the Sorbian people as a whole.
