International Folklore Festival ŁUŽICA – ŁUŽYCA – LAUSITZ
Every two years, Lusatia becomes a meeting place for dance, music and traditions from around the world. At the International Folklore Festival ŁUŽICA – ŁUŽYCA – LAUSITZ, Sorbian ensembles and international cultural groups come together to celebrate diversity, friendship and living traditions.
The festival is part of the worldwide CIOFF® network (Conseil International des Organisations de Festivals de Folklore et d’Arts Traditionnels), which operates under the auspices of UNESCO and is dedicated to the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage.
Since its foundation, the festival has connected people across borders. Captivating stage performances, parades and spontaneous encounters in courtyards and streets create a unique atmosphere marked by warmth and openness to the world.
The festival takes place in rotation at different locations in Lusatia – Budyšin | Bautzen, Hochoza | Drachhausen and Chrósćicy | Crostwitz – and is supported by hundreds of volunteers, associations and partners.
