The History Section of Maćica Serbska seeks to spark interest in Sorbian history. In particular, lectures on topics of broad public interest aim to promote and strengthen historical awareness as an important component of national identity. The section organises full-day conferences, commemorative events and, since 2009, individual lectures as part of the Maćica Academy series. The section is chaired by Martin Brützke, with Dr Lubina Mahling serving as Deputy Chair.
